Tiamulin Hydrogen fumarate is a type of antibacterial antibiotic belonging to the class of truncated pleurotus, but it has a bactericidal effect on sensitive bacteria at very high concentrations. Similar to macrolide antibiotics, Tiamulin Hydrogen fumarate also inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S subunit of the ribosome.
Tiamulin Hydrogen fumarate has good antibacterial activity against many Gram positive bacteria, including most Staphylococcus and Streptococcus (excluding Group D Streptococcus), and also has good antibacterial activity against Mycoplasma and Treponema suis. Except for certain strains of Actinobacteria pleuropneumoniae, some Escherichia coli, and Klebsiella pneumoniae, the antibacterial activity against Gram negative bacteria is very weak.
Tiamulin Hydrogen fumarate is mainly used to treat pneumonia caused by sensitive Actinobacteria pleuropneumoniae in pigs, Treponema dysentery, and chronic respiratory diseases in chickens.
