Carbetocin

Carbetocin is a long-acting peptide synthetic analogue of oxytocin, with clinical and pharmacological properties similar to natural oxytocin. It can enhance the rhythmic contractions of the uterus in late pregnancy and the relaxation of uterine smooth muscles, avoiding negative risks caused by rigid contractions and facilitating fetal delivery. Due to the modification of molecular structure on the basis of oxytocin structure, its metabolic stability is greatly enhanced. Compared with ordinary oxytocin, it has a higher contraction frequency, longer effective action time, and stronger uterine contraction rhythm.
