Besides reducing fever, how can calcium carbasalate be used more effectively?

Calcium Carbasalate Soluble Powder

Calcium Carbasalate Soluble Powder is a calcium salt formed by the condensation of aspirin and urea. It is a new type of antipyretic, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory drug used for the symptomatic treatment of febrile diseases, pain, and various infections in livestock and poultry. It is currently the only approved oral antipyretic, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory drug for livestock and poultry in China, featuring rapid absorption, quick onset, high bioavailability, and safety with no residues.

Mechanism of Action of Calcium Carbasalate Soluble Powder

  1. Antipyretic Effect: Calcium carbasalate can reduce fever without lowering normal body temperature. It mainly acts on the hypothalamus's temperature regulation center, causing peripheral blood vessel dilation, increased skin blood flow, and heat dissipation to lower the temperature.

  2. Anti-inflammatory Effect: It has a significant anti-inflammatory effect, improving symptoms of redness, swelling, heat, and pain in the inflammatory process. It can inhibit the antigen-antibody complex reaction in allergic reactions and reduce inflammatory exudation.

  3. Analgesic Effect: Its analgesic mechanism may be peripheral, effectively relieving chronic dull pain such as neuralgia, joint pain, and muscle pain.

Differences Between Calcium Carbasalate and Other Antipyretic Drugs

  1. Anti-inflammatory Effect: Calcium carbasalate has an anti-inflammatory effect, whereas metamizole, paracetamol, and aspirin do not.

  2. Water Solubility: Calcium carbasalate and metamizole are easily soluble in water, aspirin is poorly soluble in water, and paracetamol is slightly soluble in water.

  3. Side Effects: Calcium carbasalate has no side effects, while aspirin can cause gastrointestinal ulcers and bleeding, metamizole has significant side effects and can cause immune suppression, and paracetamol has relatively minor side effects.

These characteristics make calcium carbasalate a highly beneficial option with minimal side effects, ensuring no harm to poultry and no drug residues, leading to safer food products.

Applications in Broiler Chicken Farming

  1. For Some Viral Diseases in Chickens: When chickens have a fever and reduced feed intake, using calcium carbasalate can increase feed intake, providing energy to help them better resist viral infections. Antibiotics can be used simultaneously to prevent secondary infections.

  2. Calcium Carbasalate Reduces Fever Without Lowering Normal Temperature: It also reduces inflammation and relieves pain in chickens.

  3. For Chickens with Synovitis, Viral Arthritis, and Other Leg Diseases: These conditions cause severe joint pain, leading to inactivity and loss of appetite. Calcium carbasalate can reduce inflammation and relieve pain, making it an excellent choice.

  4. For Low-Grade Fevers and Respiratory Diseases: Using calcium carbasalate can improve chicken vitality, increase feed intake, and aid recovery.

  5. For Viral Diseases in Late-Stage Broiler Chickens: Near the time of slaughter, there are few antibiotic options, and their effectiveness is reduced. Adding calcium carbasalate to drinking water can alleviate symptoms like fever and body pain. Combining it with antiviral traditional Chinese medicine or drugs like Duk can help chickens recover energy and maintain feed intake until slaughter.

Usage of "Redukang" in Broiler Chickens

“Redukang” contains 50% calcium carbasalate, made from high-quality domestic raw materials, ensuring reliable and significant effects.

  1. Preventive Dose: Dissolve one bag in 4,000 jin (about 2,000 liters) of water for common colds in broiler chickens, showing symptoms like clear nasal discharge, extended eye corners, ruffled head feathers, and inactivity.

  2. Treatment Dose: During viral diseases, dissolve one bag in 2,000 jin (about 1,000 liters) of water for symptoms like lethargy, closed eyes, standing still, rough feathers, and sleeping with the head tucked under the wing.

Precautions for Using Calcium Carbasalate

  1. Interaction with Alkaline Drugs: The aspirin metabolite salicylic acid is acidic and can reduce the efficacy of alkaline drugs like baking soda. Pay attention to drug combinations to avoid unnecessary losses.

  2. Combination with Antibiotics: Calcium carbasalate can enhance the effects of antibiotics like penicillin, amoxicillin, cephalosporins, and gentamicin. It can also be used with antiviral drugs like Radix Isatidis, Astragalus polysaccharides, and common plant medicines like Echinacea to enhance the effects of clearing heat and detoxifying.
